York Woman Killed in Single-Vehicle Crash in Sumter County
A 35-year-old woman from York, LaTorrey L. Law, died in a single-vehicle crash on Sept. 23 in Sumter County, according to the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA).
The incident occurred around 10:19 p.m. on Alabama Highway 17, near the 132-mile marker, approximately seven miles south of York. Law was driving a 2005 Chevrolet Malibu when the vehicle left the roadway and overturned.
Authorities reported that Law was ejected from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene. It was noted that she was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
Troopers from ALEA’s Highway Patrol Division are investigating the crash. No additional details have been provided at this time.
