Woman killed in crash; driver faces vehicular homicide charges.

Delaware State Police Identify Woman Killed in New Castle Crash

A 36-year-old woman has died following a two-vehicle collision early Saturday morning in New Castle. The driver of the vehicle she was in faces charges of vehicular homicide.

According to authorities, the crash occurred around 1 a.m. on November 15 on southbound North DuPont Highway near Christiana Road. Investigators reported that a Kenworth tractor-trailer was in the left middle lane when a Lexus, driven by Ashley Wright of Dover, approached from behind and collided with the rear of the trailer.

Emergency responders arrived at the scene, where Wright was pronounced dead. The driver of the tractor-trailer was unharmed. Following the incident, southbound North DuPont Highway experienced lane closures as investigators processed the scene.

The crash is currently under investigation by Delaware State Police. Further details will be released as they become available.
