Woman Killed in Avon Car Crash
AVON, MA – A woman was killed in a single-vehicle crash on Route 28 early Thursday morning around 10:00 a.m.
According to authorities, the accident involved a black Ford Focus, which reportedly struck a utility pole. Witnesses stated that the driver was a woman, who died at the scene. The impact caused significant damage, resulting in smoke that alarmed nearby residents. One witness, a restaurant owner located next to the crash site, attempted to assist the woman before calling police.
Emergency responders and reconstruction crews were dispatched to the scene, and the road was briefly closed but has since reopened to one lane. The investigation into the accident is ongoing.
