One Dead in Newaygo County School Bus Collision
EVERETT TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A car and a school bus collided on a rural road in Newaygo County Monday night, resulting in one fatality.
The White Cloud Public Schools bus was traveling north on Oak Street when a car failed to stop at the 8th Street intersection, according to the Newaygo County Sheriff’s Office. The bus driver was unable to avoid the car, crashing into its driver’s side.
The 25-year-old female driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene. The 46-year-old bus driver was transported to the hospital for treatment. There were no passengers in either vehicle at the time of the accident.
Authorities are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash, and further information will be released as it becomes available.
