Woman dies from injuries in Murfreesboro crash; teen hospitalized.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. (WTVF) — A 63-year-old woman has died from injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash on South Rutherford Boulevard last Friday.

Belinda Talley succumbed to her injuries Monday, according to the Fatal Accident Crash Team (FACT). Investigators reported that Talley was driving a Nissan Altima and attempted to turn left onto South Rutherford Boulevard when she collided with a Dodge Ram 1500 driven by a 17-year-old male.

Preliminary findings indicate that Talley failed to yield the right of way. The impact of the crash trapped her inside the vehicle; firefighters from the Murfreesboro Fire Rescue Department had to extricate her before she was airlifted to a local hospital.

The teenage driver also sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported by Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services paramedics for treatment. The collision caused the pickup truck to veer into oncoming traffic, where it struck a tree and subsequently crashed into an unoccupied parked car at a nearby apartment complex.

FACT investigators continue to look into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
