Woman dead, two injured in early morning crash.

INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A woman is dead and two men were injured in a single-vehicle crash early Sunday morning near Marian University.

At approximately 3:40 a.m., officers from the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department’s Northwest District responded to a report of a crash in the 3200 block of Cold Spring Road. Upon arrival, they discovered a vehicle had struck an electrical pole, resulting in a single-vehicle accident.

One occupant, a woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two occupants, both men, were transported to a local hospital. One is in stable condition, while the other is listed in critical condition.

Authorities believe the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed when it lost control and crashed into the pole. The driver has not yet been identified.

Intoxication is suspected to be a contributing factor to the crash. The hospitalized individuals underwent standard blood draw procedures following the fatal accident.

Investigation into the incident is ongoing.
