INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) — A woman died, and two others were hospitalized following a two-vehicle crash on the city’s far east side on Friday.
At 6:21 p.m., officers from the Indianapolis Metro Police Department (IMPD) responded to a report of a personal injury collision in the 9500 block of East 10th Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a collision involving a Nissan sedan and a red Jeep SUV.
The driver of the Nissan, a woman, was pronounced dead at the scene. The Jeep’s occupants—a male driver and a female passenger—were transported to an area hospital, where they are listed in stable condition.
Investigators believe the Jeep struck the Nissan. Further details regarding the circumstances of the crash have not yet been released.
According to IMPD, there were initial misidentifications regarding the victims’ genders. The Marion County Coroner’s Office has confirmed that the deceased was a woman.
