UPS Plane Crash Triggers Disaster Aid for Affected Businesses

Small Businesses Impacted by UPS Plane Crash Now Eligible for Disaster Aid

Louisville, Ky. – The U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA) has granted Kentucky's request for a disaster declaration following the recent UPS plane crash. This approval enables businesses in affected counties to apply for Economic Injury Disaster Loans.

According to Governor Andy Beshear, these loans aim to support both businesses and community recovery. The loans are available for businesses in Jefferson, Bullitt, Hardin, Oldham, Shelby, and Spencer counties.

Governor Beshear's office disclosed that 57 businesses in proximity to the crash site, particularly in the Grade Lane area, have reported damage ranging from total destruction to significant contamination.

Applications for disaster loans can be submitted online at the MySBA Loan Portal. The deadline to apply is Aug. 17, 2026. For further assistance, businesses can contact the SBA disaster assistance center via email at disastercustomerservice@sba.gov or by phone at 800-659-2955.

This development follows a tragic plane crash that occurred in Louisville, leading to widespread community needs for financial support and recovery resources.
