Two teenagers killed in fiery crash in Kalamazoo.

KALAMAZOO COUNTY, Mich. — Two teenagers died in a fiery crash at the intersection of 9th and Stadium on August 17 at approximately 3:00 a.m.

A 19-year-old driver from Paw Paw and a 17-year-old passenger from Kalamazoo were killed in the incident. According to the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, the driver may have lost control of the vehicle, crashing into a pole and causing a fire. Speed is believed to be a contributing factor, and authorities are investigating the potential involvement of drugs or alcohol.

In the aftermath of the crash, a memorial of flowers and kind messages has begun to grow at the scene. The names of the victims have not yet been released by authorities.

Emergency response included the Kalamazoo County Sheriff’s Office, which continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
