LEDE: A motorcycle crash on State Route 101 near downtown at approximately 2:41 p.m. on Saturday resulted in significant injuries.
According to the California Highway Patrol, a Yamaha YZF-R3 motorcycle crossed into oncoming traffic and collided with a Chevrolet Tahoe. The crash involved two vehicles, with both parties sustaining injuries.
Emergency services, including local fire and medical personnel, responded to the scene. Paramedics provided medical aid on-site before transporting the motorcycle rider to a nearby hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe did not sustain major injuries but was treated for minor injuries at the scene.
Authorities confirmed that both the eastbound and westbound lanes of State Route 101 were temporarily closed for about 45 minutes for cleanup and investigation. Towing services were called to remove the vehicles involved.
