Three killed in head-on crash on Egypt Road

Three Killed in Head-On Collision on Egypt Road in Raymond

RAYMOND, ME—Three people died in a head-on collision on Egypt Road Wednesday morning.

Authorities said the crash occurred around 11 a.m. when a Nissan Frontier pickup crossed the center line, colliding with a Subaru Crosstrek SUV. The driver of the pickup, Gregory Logue, 56, of Windham, and the two occupants of the SUV, Tamara and Arthur Harmon, both 80 and of Raymond, were pronounced dead at the scene.

According to Lt. James Estabrook of the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office, no occupants survived the crash. Preliminary investigation indicated that Logue had been driving erratically prior to the incident.

Egypt Road has a speed limit of 45 mph and was reported wet from light rain at the time of the accident. However, Estabrook stated it is too early to determine if weather conditions contributed to the crash.

The section of Egypt Road near the Raymond-Gray town line was closed for several hours and reopened just before 2:30 p.m. Maine State Police assisted the sheriff’s office at the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
