KENDALL COUNTY, Texas (KABB) — A crash on Interstate 10 resulted in the deaths of a woman and two children on Monday afternoon.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the collision occurred just before 3:30 p.m. in the westbound lanes near Mile Marker 524. A 2013 GMC Sierra was stopped in the right lane when it was struck from behind by a 2018 Cascadia tractor-trailer.
The crash claimed the lives of 23-year-old passenger Giselle Cristobal and two boys, who were pronounced dead at the scene. The GMC driver, a 31-year-old woman, was transported to a medical center in San Antonio, while a 2-year-old girl was airlifted for treatment.
Local residents expressed their shock and concern over road safety. One witness noted the frequency of such incidents in the area. The Texas Trucking Association extended condolences to the families affected and underscored support for the “Share the Road” program to enhance highway safety through education.
