COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Two additional arrests were made in connection with a fatal hit-and-run crash on October 6, 2024, that killed 18-year-old Emiliano Malpica-Medina and injured three family members, according to the Commerce City Police Department.
Elian Agramonte is charged with vehicular homicide and vehicular assault for allegedly street racing with another driver, Erika Hernandez-Escobar, at the time of the incident. Hernandez-Escobar, who was arrested shortly after the crash, has pleaded guilty to similar charges.
Racquel Flores faces three counts of accessory to a crime, accused of aiding Hernandez-Escobar in fleeing the scene. The incident occurred around 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Holly Street and East 58th Avenue, when Hernandez-Escobar, operating an Audi, allegedly ran a red light, colliding with another vehicle that had the right-of-way.
Emergency responders attended to Malpica-Medina’s family, who sustained serious injuries. The authorities continued to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash and urged witnesses to come forward.
