Six Injured in Crash on I-95 in North Hampton

NORTH HAMPTON, N.H. — Six people were hospitalized following a crash on Interstate 95 after a vehicle crossed the median on Sunday.

According to North Hampton Fire & Rescue, the accident occurred around 5 p.m. on the southbound side near mile marker 7.6, north of the Hampton Tolls. A vehicle traveling north on I-95 collided with a pickup truck heading south, causing the pickup to veer into the woods.

Authorities reported that two individuals were extricated from the vehicles. Six people in total were taken to the hospital for injuries.

The southbound lanes of I-95 were closed for approximately 45 minutes, with one lane reopening around 6 p.m. New Hampshire State Police confirmed all lanes were cleared by 10 p.m.

This incident follows a series of crashes in the area where vehicles crossed the median. Notably, on October 16 in Greenland, a collision led to two fatalities and one serious injury.

In response to these incidents, the Executive Council has recently approved a project to install safety barriers along a 5-mile stretch of I-95 between Route 151 in North Hampton and Sherburne Road in Portsmouth.
