BULLITT COUNTY, Ky. — A multi-vehicle crash involving seven vehicles occurred on I-65 North near East 4th Street on Thursday, sending five people to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
According to the Kentucky Department of Transportation, the incident was reported shortly before 3 p.m., blocking all northbound lanes and the southbound left lane and shoulder. All lanes reopened by 4:48 p.m.
Authorities stated one of the vehicles involved was an Amazon semitruck that jackknifed. Witnesses reported seeing a car in a ditch adjacent to a downed light pole and a crashed pickup truck. At least two SUVs were being towed from the scene.
Video footage revealed tire tracks in the grass between the northbound and southbound lanes, appearing as if a vehicle had gone through the fencing.
Emergency response teams were dispatched, and the investigation is ongoing.
