Seven-car crash disrupts NASCAR Chicago street race action.

Lede: Carson Hocevar caused a seven-car pileup during the NASCAR Chicago street race on July 5, 2025.

Hocevar's incident occurred on lap 3 of the Grant Park 165, when he clipped the inside of turn 11. This action sent his car ricocheting off the outside wall before it twisted back toward the track.

Austin Dillon was the first driver involved in the crash, unable to avoid Hocevar's car in front of him. Other drivers caught in the wreck included Brad Keselowski, Daniel Suarez, Todd Gilliland, Will Brown, and Riley Herbst.

The crash prompted race officials to issue a red flag, halting the event to untangle the cars.

Hocevar qualified third for the race, while Shane Gisbergen, the winner of the July 5 Xfinity race, sat on the pole position. Michael McDowell qualified second.

Authorities are investigating the incident. Updates on the race and results can be found from official sources.
