Pedestrian Killed in Fatal Crash on Sixth Avenue

Killed in Aurora Crash Early Tuesday

A fatal crash in western Aurora on Tuesday morning resulted in the death of a 70-year-old . The incident occurred around 5 a.m. on Eastbound Sixth Avenue at Potomac Street when the man, who was in a crosswalk, was struck by a Ford F-150 truck, according to the Aurora Police Department.

Emergency responders transported the pedestrian to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. The identity of the victim will be released by the Arapahoe County Coroner's Office at a later time.

The driver of the Ford F-150 remained on the scene and is cooperating with investigators. Authorities stated that, as of Tuesday evening, there are no indications that alcohol or speed contributed to the crash.

Eastbound Sixth Avenue was closed for nearly three hours while authorities conducted the investigation and cleaned up the scene, reopening just after 7:30 a.m., police reported.
