Pedestrian Killed in Lakewood Crash on Wadsworth Boulevard
LAKEWOOD, Colo. — A pedestrian was struck and killed by a car early Friday morning at S. Wadsworth Boulevard and W. Eastman Place, according to the Lakewood Police Department.
The incident occurred around 6:06 a.m. The driver remained at the scene, and initial reports indicate no signs of impairment, police said. The northbound lanes of Wadsworth Boulevard are closed at Eastman Place, with no estimated time for reopening as of 8:21 a.m. Authorities are advising drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
The investigation into the crash is ongoing, and officials have not yet determined if charges will be filed against the driver. The identity of the deceased pedestrian will be disclosed by the coroner's office once family notifications are made.
