Pedestrian killed in DUI crash involving Texas woman in Porsche

HOUSTON (WKRC) — A 34-year-old Texas woman is facing a second-degree manslaughter charge after allegedly striking and killing a man with her Porsche while intoxicated.

Authorities said Kristina Chambers was driving a Porsche 911 Carrera at approximately 70 mph around 2 a.m. on April 19, 2023, when she hit a curb and subsequently collided with 33-year-old Joseph McMullin, who was leaving a donut shop. McMullin was struck with enough force to be sent 30 feet into the air, according to KHOU.

Investigators reported Chambers’ blood alcohol content was .301, nearly four times the legal limit. Police also discovered cocaine in her vehicle and purse. Two passengers in Chambers’ car were transported to an area hospital for treatment.

Chambers’ attorney, Mark Thiessen, claimed the crash was an accident, suggesting that her Christian Louboutin heels became stuck on the gas pedal. “This is one of Houston’s most dangerous curves,” Thiessen added.

McMullin’s family has filed a $1 million civil lawsuit against Chambers. If convicted, Chambers faces a potential prison sentence of two to 20 years.

The incident remains under investigation by the Houston Police Department.
