Pedestrian Dies in Colchester Crash Involving 16-Year-Old Driver

Struck and Killed by Vehicle Driven by Teen in Colchester

A was fatally injured after being hit by a car driven by a 16-year-old boy in Colchester, Vermont, on Saturday night.

According to the Colchester Police and Fire Departments, multiple 911 calls were received at 8:52 p.m. regarding a vehicle versus pedestrian crash on Malletts Bay Avenue near the intersection of Young Street. Bystanders were reportedly attempting resuscitation efforts at the scene.

Emergency crews arrived and took over lifesaving measures; however, the male pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene. The victim's identity has not yet been released, and police are withholding the driver's name due to his age.

Malletts Bay Avenue was temporarily closed to facilitate the emergency response but has since reopened. Authorities have not disclosed the cause of the collision, noting that the investigation is in its early stages.
