Nashville Police Seek Driver of Stolen Vehicle Connected to Fatal Hit-and-Run
NASHVILLE, TN — Police are searching for the driver of a stolen vehicle involved in a hit-and-run crash that killed a pedestrian in East Nashville on July 8.
Julie Savoy, 53, was soliciting on the concrete median at South 5th and Spring Streets around 3:30 p.m. when she was struck by a black Hyundai Elantra traveling north on South 5th Street, according to the Metro Nashville Police Department (MNPD). Savoy sustained critical injuries and was transported to Vanderbilt University Medical Center, where she succumbed to her injuries on July 16.
Authorities reported that the driver fled the scene of the accident. The vehicle's owner later reported the Hyundai Elantra stolen, and police located the car in Madison.
