Paraglider crash kills Georgia pilot in Scioto County

PORTSMOUTH, Ohio (WSYX) — A 35-year-old paraglider pilot from Byron, Georgia, died Sunday morning after a crash in Scioto County.

The incident was reported at 9:35 a.m. near U.S. Route 52, close to Earl Thomas Conley Park in West Portsmouth. According to witnesses, the paraglider fell from the sky while flying over a field adjacent to the Ohio River.

The pilot, identified as Timothy A. Williams, was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities reported no other injuries resulting from the crash. The National Transportation Safety Board and local officials are investigating the incident.
