One Dead in Three-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 19 in Town of Medina

TOWN OF MEDINA, Wis. (WKOW) — One person died following a three-vehicle crash on State Highway 19 early Saturday morning.

According to the Dane County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the scene at 12:24 a.m. at the intersection of State Highway 19 and Weidemann Drive. Emergency responders from the Sheriff’s Office crash reconstruction team, the Crime Scene Unit, and UW Med-Flight were deployed.

A passenger in a Nissan Altima was pronounced dead at the scene. The Dane County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released the individual’s identity.

The 56-year-old driver of a Ford Fusion was treated by emergency medical services at the scene and later released. Two other drivers sustained serious injuries and were transported to a local hospital.

The circumstances that led to the crash remain under investigation by the Sheriff’s Office, which will provide additional details as they become available.

No lane closures were noted at the time of the report.
