Multi-Vehicle Crash on I-5 South of Goshen Claims One Life, Leaves Another Seriously Injured
One person died and another was hospitalized with serious injuries following a multi-vehicle crash on I-5 south of Goshen on July 29, according to the Oregon State Police.
The incident occurred around 8 a.m., approximately 2 miles south of the Oregon 58 interchange at milepost 186. The crash involved two passenger vehicles and a commercial dump truck. Authorities stated that one of the passenger vehicles attempted to cross into northbound traffic at an emergency turnaround when the collision occurred.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. The injured party was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
A secondary crash involving three additional vehicles occurred on the southbound side of the highway, but further details have not been provided.
Following the accident, northbound traffic was limited to one lane for several hours. Full interstate access was restored by 2 p.m. as the investigation into the incident continues.
