WINDHAM, N.H. — One person was killed Friday night in a head-on collision on Route 111 at approximately 10:20 p.m.
According to the Windham Fire Department, the crash occurred near Fellows Road. Crews on scene found one vehicle facing east and an SUV facing west. A female occupant in the SUV was trapped and was pronounced dead at the scene due to severe injuries.
The driver of the other vehicle was transported to Parkland Medical Center in Derry with injuries to his arm, head, and chest; however, those injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Route 111 was closed between Fellows Road and Lowell Road for several hours, reopening around 1:30 a.m. Saturday.
Authorities reported that as of 8 a.m. Saturday, the incident remains under investigation by the Windham Police Department and the Derry Police Department’s Technical Accident Reconstruction Unit.
