ROWAN COUNTY, Ky. (LEX 18) — I-64 eastbound near mile marker 142.5 was closed for several hours early Wednesday following a crash involving an overturned semi.
According to Rowan County Coroner John Northcutt, the semi, which was transporting coal, overturned, but no injuries were reported.
Emergency crews responded to the scene, where they worked to clear the wreckage and secure the area. The roadway was reopened after the vehicle was removed, but specific details about the towing company were not provided.
Authorities have not indicated whether an investigation into the cause of the crash is ongoing.
