No injuries reported as crash damages Best Nails salon in Speedway

SPEEDWAY — Best Nails, a longstanding nail salon in Speedway, reopened just days after a car crashed through its front entrance on Sunday morning.

The incident occurred around 8 a.m. on Labor Day weekend, according to Speedway Police. The driver, who was uninsured, lost control of the vehicle. Fortunately, the salon was closed at the time, and no injuries were reported.

The cause of the crash is currently under investigation, and authorities noted there is no indication that the driver was under the influence. The collision caused significant damage to the front of the building, with boards now covering the entrance.

Photos of the incident quickly circulated online, prompting concern from community members about the salon’s staff and owners. Kelli Collins, a longtime customer, expressed her worries for the team, which has fostered strong relationships in the community over the past seven years.

“This is a place people come not just for nails, but to check in with each other,” Collins said.

Despite the incident, Best Nails resumed operations shortly after. Many regular customers, including Collins, have returned to support the salon. “It’s a community,” she stated. “We try to take care of each other.”
