According to the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, the incident involved a military-grade Humvee, a Subaru, and a truck pulling a car hauler. Spc. Terry Frye, 23, from Lafayette, was one of four Guardsmen in the Humvee en route to Camp Atterbury for a drill weekend and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other Guardsmen—Izaya Phillips, 21, of Ingalls; Luke Richardson, 23, of Carmel; and Nicholas Reinhart, 27, of Washington—were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment.

The Subaru driver, 51-year-old Veronica Webster of Independence, Kentucky, and the car hauler driver, 56-year-old Goderdzi Gujabidze of Brooklyn, New York, were also sent to hospitals for standard blood draws following the crash.

Authorities said the investigation into the cause of the crash remains ongoing. Additionally, ICE has placed a hold on Gujabidze, who is currently detained at the Boone County Jail; the reason for the hold is still unclear.
