Motorcyclist Injured in Torrington Crash on South Main Street

A motorcyclist sustained serious injuries in a crash on South Main Street in Torrington around 7:13 a.m. Thursday, August 28, 2025.

Authorities reported that a 30-year-old man was found with significant injuries and was transported to Hartford Hospital via LifeStar, a medical helicopter. Details about the extent of his injuries have not been released.

According to police, the incident occurred when a Mack Granite truck turned onto South Main Street from Vista Drive. The motorcyclist, traveling south on South Main Street, swerved left, went off the roadway, and crashed. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. The driver of the truck is cooperating with the investigation.

No charges have been filed as police continue to investigate the circumstances of the crash. South Main Street will be closed between Bogue Road and Vista Drive for several hours as the Torrington Accident Investigation Team works at the scene.
