One dead, two injured in five-car crash on I-25; hit-and-run drivers sought
One person was killed and two others injured in a five-car collision on southbound Interstate 25 near West Eighth Avenue last Tuesday at approximately 10:15 p.m.
According to Denver police, a motorcyclist was struck from behind by an unknown driver, pushing the motorcycle into a stalled vehicle. The motorcyclist and their passenger were thrown from the bike. The driver succumbed to injuries at the scene, while the passenger suffered life-threatening injuries and was transported to the hospital. The driver of the vehicle that was initially struck sustained minor injuries.
The crash closed the southbound lanes of I-25 for roughly three hours. Authorities confirmed that two drivers fled the scene—one in a white pickup truck and the other in a blue sedan. The pickup truck may have sustained damage to its front end and bumper.
