CLACKAMAS COUNTY, Ore. — A 52-year-old man from Molalla died Saturday afternoon in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 224, according to Oregon State Police.
The incident occurred around 2:20 p.m. near milepost 45. Authorities said Tony James Gonzalez was traveling east on a Suzuki GSXR-1000 when he lost control, veered off the road, and struck a guardrail. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Traffic on the highway was disrupted for approximately three hours as investigators assessed the crash site. The cause of the vehicle leaving the roadway is still under investigation.
Oregon State Police were assisted in the investigation by the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office, Estacada Fire, and the Oregon Department of Transportation.
