High Point Motorcyclist Killed in Early Morning Crash
HIGH POINT — An 18-year-old motorcyclist died following a collision with a pickup truck early Sunday morning at a busy intersection.
David Scott Hill Jr. of Thomasville was riding a 2009 Suzuki motorcycle east on Westchester Drive around 12:30 a.m. when he failed to stop for a red light at N. Main Street and collided with a northbound 2011 Chevrolet pickup, according to the High Point Police Department. The agency did not provide an estimate of Hill’s speed before the crash.
Hill was transported to Atrium Health Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston-Salem, where he later died. The driver of the pickup truck was not injured, authorities said.
No charges have been filed, and the investigation is ongoing, according to police.
