Lede: A motorcyclist died in a collision with a car in Scott County on Thursday afternoon.
Authorities said the crash occurred at 1:48 p.m. at the intersection of Highway 13 and McColl Drive in Savage. A motorcycle traveling south collided with a Hyundai Elantra heading east.
The motorcyclist, identified as 54-year-old David Lawrence Sampson of Prior Lake, succumbed to injuries at the scene. According to the incident report, Sampson was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
The 19-year-old driver of the Hyundai reportedly sustained no injuries. Minnesota State Patrol is investigating the incident, and further details regarding lane closures or tows were not immediately available.
