LOVELAND, Colo. — A 37-year-old motorcyclist died Friday evening after crashing into an SUV near Eisenhower Boulevard and Denver Avenue.

The collision occurred around 8 p.m., causing minor injuries to the SUV driver and substantial damage to the vehicle, according to the Loveland Police Department.

Prior to the crash, a Larimer County deputy initiated a traffic stop on the motorcyclist for reckless near E. 7th Street and Boise Avenue. The rider fled the scene, prompting deputies to terminate the pursuit after losing sight of the .

The motorcyclist was transported to Medical Center of the Rockies where he was later pronounced dead. His name has not yet been disclosed. Authorities confirmed that he was a habitual traffic offender with a revoked license.

Police noted an increase in reckless operation in Loveland, with incidents reported daily.
