Motorcyclist Dies After Crash on I-76 Near Brighton
A motorcyclist died Thursday afternoon after colliding with the center barrier on Interstate 76 near Eagle Boulevard.
The 82-year-old woman was traveling eastbound around 1:50 p.m. when she struck the barrier for unknown reasons, according to Brighton Police. She was ejected from the motorcycle, which then rolled into the westbound lanes, where it hit another vehicle. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured.
Emergency responders transported the motorcyclist to a nearby hospital, where she was pronounced dead shortly thereafter. Her identity is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Authorities stated that there is no indication that drugs, alcohol, or speed contributed to the crash. The investigation is ongoing.
