Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of Springfield Man in Linn County
A motorcycle crash at the junction of Highway 126 and US-20 in Linn County resulted in the death of a 72-year-old Springfield man on Aug. 13 at approximately 10:40 a.m.
According to the Oregon State Police, the motorcyclist, Jan Dwight McSilvers of Springfield, failed to navigate a curve and left the roadway, with the motorcycle rolling on top of him. First responders pronounced McSilvers dead at the scene.
Authorities reported that the highway was closed for about one hour during the investigation. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
