Motorcyclist Seriously Injured in Cape Cod Crash

A 22-year-old man sustained serious injuries in a accident on Cape Cod Saturday afternoon.

According to Bourne Police, officers responded at approximately 2 p.m. to a reported crash on Head of the Bay Road. Upon arrival, they found the Taunton man on the ground with suspected serious injuries.

The motorcyclist was airlifted to a nearby hospital by Boston MedFlight. His name has not been released, and there is no update on his condition.

Authorities reported that the driver of the SUV involved, an 84-year-old Bourne resident, did not sustain injuries and remained at the scene.

Head of the Bay Road was closed to traffic while officers conducted an on-scene investigation.

The Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council's crash reconstruction team is handling the investigation, and no information is currently available regarding potential charges or further details about the accident.
