Nashville Police Seek Public's Help in Fatal Hit-and-Run Involving Motorcycle
NASHVILLE, TN — Nashville police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that killed a motorcyclist on Old Hickory Boulevard on Sept. 9 at 7:30 p.m.
James C. Sellars, 33, of Hendersonville, was stopped in a southbound lane at a traffic signal when a silver Mercedes SUV struck his Kawasaki CR 1000 from behind, according to authorities. The impact pushed Sellars' motorcycle into the intersection, where it collided with a utility pole. Sellars was pronounced dead at the scene.
The suspect vehicle is described as a smaller-style Mercedes SUV with front-end damage, including a missing front bumper cover.
