Motorcycle Crash Claims Life of 21-Year-Old in Whitefield
A 21-year-old man died in a motorcycle crash on Vigue Road in Whitefield on Sunday morning.
According to the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office, the man was riding a 2007 Kawasaki Ninja 250 northbound when he lost control, veering off the roadway and striking trees. He was pronounced dead at the scene, but his identity is being withheld pending family notification.
Authorities noted that speed and driver inexperience are believed to be contributing factors in the incident. The rider was the sole occupant of the motorcycle and was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.
Emergency responders included the Whitefield Fire and Rescue, Windsor Fire Department, and Delta Ambulance. Vigue Road was closed from shortly after 10:30 a.m. until approximately 1:30 p.m. as authorities conducted their investigation.
