Motorcycle crash in Williamsburg leaves one dead, others injured.

WILLIAMSBURG, Ind. (WISH) — A crash on Sept. 1 resulted in one fatality in Wayne County.

The incident occurred around 5 p.m. at the intersection of North U.S. 35 and Sycamore Street, according to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office. Two adults from Ottawa, Illinois, were operating a motorcycle behind a Ford F-150 towing a flatbed trailer when the motorcycle attempted to pass the truck in a no-passing zone.

Authorities reported that the motorcycle collided with the trailer as the truck began to turn west onto Sycamore Street. Bystanders rushed to assist, but 41-year-old Kelly Rick, a motorcycle passenger, succumbed to her injuries. The drivers of both the motorcycle and the Ford F-150 were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Sheriff’s Office is investigating the crash. No additional details on emergency response or lane closures were provided at this time.
