Motorcycle crash claims life of 74-year-old in Baker County.

BAKER COUNTY, Ore. — A single-vehicle crash on Highway 26 near milepost 221 resulted in the death of a motorcyclist on August 18 around 5:45 p.m.

Oregon State Police said a westbound Kawasaki Ninja, operated by 74-year-old Michael Allen Klaus of Stanfield, lost control and crashed into the westbound ditch. Klaus was pronounced dead at the scene.

The highway remained closed for approximately two hours as authorities investigated the incident. Oregon Department of Transportation assisted on-site.
