Juvenile Female Dies Following Police Pursuit and Crash in Itasca County

A juvenile female was killed in a crash following a police pursuit in Itasca County early Sunday morning.

Around 1:30 a.m., an Itasca County Deputy observed a vehicle traveling westbound on County Road 63 near County Road 271 without headlights, according to the Itasca County Sheriff’s Office. The deputy attempted to conduct a traffic stop, but the vehicle fled, prompting a pursuit.

The vehicle ultimately crashed at the intersection of Highway 6 and County Road 11. The sole occupant, a juvenile female, died at the scene due to injuries sustained in the crash. Authorities reported she was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the incident.
