Lede: A military truck collided with a car near Capitol Hill early Wednesday morning, resulting in one person being hospitalized with minor injuries.
The D.C. Fire and EMS Department reported the incident occurred at N. Carolina Avenue Southeast and 8th Street at approximately 6:18 a.m. The agency noted the crash was confirmed via their X account around 7:48 a.m.
Emergency responders found an entrapment situation, with the injured individual extracted from the crashed vehicle before being transported to a local hospital. According to D.C. Fire, the person injured was a civilian occupant of the other vehicle, not the military truck.
