A crash involving two tractor-trailers closed all southbound lanes of Interstate 71 in Columbus for over 3½ hours early Wednesday morning, Aug. 13, 2025.
The accident occurred around 3 a.m. near I-71 and East Hudson Street, as reported by a Columbus police dispatcher. The highway reopened by 6:50 a.m., according to the Ohio Department of Transportation.
One person was transported to Grant Medical Center and is in stable condition, with no report of life-threatening injuries. Southbound lanes were blocked from the Interstate 270 interchange to East Hudson Street, disrupting traffic for several miles.
Authorities are investigating the incident, and details on possible citations or causes will be provided as the investigation progresses.
