MANCHESTER, N.H. — A Manchester police cruiser was damaged in a collision Thursday at the intersection of Lake Avenue and Pine Street while responding to a call.
Authorities reported the cruiser had its lights and siren activated at the time of the crash. A blue Subaru SUV rolled over during the incident. When emergency responders arrived, both vehicles had deployed their airbags.
There was one officer in the cruiser and possibly two individuals in the Subaru. All parties were transported to a local hospital for evaluation, but injuries are not believed to be serious.
This incident marks the fourth emergency vehicle crash in Manchester within two days. On Wednesday, three separate crashes involved emergency responders. An ambulance and a car collided around 11:40 a.m. near Elliot Hospital. While there were no patients in the ambulance, two medics were trapped inside when it rolled onto its side. Their injuries were not life-threatening, and the other driver was uninjured.
While responding to that crash, a police officer was involved in another collision on Valley Street near Jewett Street, resulting in heavy damage to both vehicles. The officer was taken to Elliot Hospital, and two occupants of the other vehicle were also transported for treatment.
Later, a Manchester fire truck was involved in a third crash near the intersection of Merrimack and Chestnut streets, with the car’s driver taken to the hospital as a precaution.
Authorities are investigating the series of incidents.
