IndyCar crash leaves David Malukas hospitalized, later released safely.

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WISH) — IndyCar driver David Malukas has been released from Vanderbilt Hospital following a crash during the Borchetta Bourbon Music City Grand Prix on Sunday.

Malukas went to the hospital for additional testing after a serious incident on lap 83, where he lost control of his vehicle and collided with the wall while racing in second place.

He was assisted out of his AJ Foyt Racing car by the AMR Safety team and was first evaluated at the in-field care center before being transported by helicopter to Vanderbilt for further examination.

According to the team, Malukas received a clean bill of health and expressed gratitude for the medical support he received. He shared his recovery on social media, stating, “I am healthy and well! Thank you all for the messages,” and thanked the AMR/INDYCAR medical teams for their exceptional care.

AJ Foyt Racing confirmed the safe release of Malukas and highlighted the importance of safety advancements in IndyCar. The team expressed appreciation for the support from fans and fellow competitors.

Malukas concluded the 2025 season ranked 11th in the standings, amid rumors he may join Team Penske next season as a replacement for Will Power.
