ALLENDALE TOWNSHIP, Mich. — A 43-year-old Grand Rapids man was killed and his 22-year-old passenger from Muskegon Heights sustained injuries in an ATV accident on Saturday evening.
At approximately 8:55 p.m., the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office and Allendale Fire Rescue responded to a single ATV rollover accident at the intersection of 90th Ave. and South Cedar Dr. in Allendale Township.
Initial investigations indicate the ATV was traveling northeast on South Cedar Dr. when it left the roadway and rolled over, causing the driver to be ejected. Despite life-saving measures, he was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.
The passenger, 22, was transported to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
The identity of the victim has not been disclosed at this time. The incident is under investigation, and anyone with information is urged to contact the Ottawa County Sheriff’s Office.
