Rudy Giuliani Injured in New Hampshire Car Crash
Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, sustained injuries in a rear-end car crash on Interstate 93 in New Hampshire on Saturday night.
According to New Hampshire State Police, the crash occurred around 9 p.m. when Giuliani’s rented Ford Bronco, driven by his spokesperson Ted Goodman, was struck by a Honda HR-V operated by a 19-year-old woman. Both vehicles suffered significant damage and collided with the highway median.
Giuliani, 81, was taken to a trauma center for treatment of a fractured thoracic vertebra, multiple lacerations, and contusions. Goodman and the teenage driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were also hospitalized.
Authorities confirmed that the cause of the crash is under investigation, and no charges have been filed. Prior to the accident, Giuliani and Goodman reported encountering a woman on the roadside who appeared distressed but did not seem injured; they called the police for assistance.
Giuliani commented on his recovery during his online show on Tuesday, explaining he was instructed not to bend, lift, or twist for the time being, but doctors are optimistic about his healing process.
Giuliani is known for his leadership during the 9/11 attacks and has been a prominent figure in recent political controversies.
