Fortuna Man Injured in Morgan County Crash
A 17-year-old man from Fortuna, Mo., sustained serious injuries in a vehicle crash on Thursday in Morgan County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP), the incident occurred at 8:44 a.m. at the intersection of Missouri Route 52 and Route T. The crash involved three vehicles: a 2013 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, a 2017 Nissan Altima, and a 2020 Ram 4500.
Authorities reported the Chevrolet was stopped in the westbound lane of Missouri Route 52, waiting to turn left onto Route T. The driver of the Nissan stopped behind the Chevrolet, signaling a left turn. The Ram driver, also from Fortuna, was traveling westbound on Route 52 but failed to slow down, colliding with the rear of the Nissan and subsequently pushing it into the Chevrolet.
The 17-year-old Fortuna driver was airlifted to University Hospital due to the severity of his injuries. No injuries were reported for the other drivers involved. MSHP confirmed that the Fortuna driver was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
