Former Cheatham County Corporal Charged with Assault
A former Cheatham County corporal faces assault charges following an incident involving a traffic crash earlier this year.
According to the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation (TBI), Ryan Creech, 50, was indicted by a Cheatham County grand jury on July 1 for allegedly applying inappropriate force during his response to a crash on duty. The investigation commenced on January 6 after a complaint was filed regarding Creech’s conduct.
Creech has been charged with one count of assault with the threat of bodily injury and one count of aggravated assault for strangulation. He turned himself in and was booked into the Cheatham County Jail on a $6,000 bond. As of July 3, TBI officials confirmed he is no longer in custody.
Creech is currently unemployed and no longer serves with the Cheatham County Sheriff’s Office.
